Iacer Calixto

Dr. Calixto is assistant professor at the Department of Medical Informatics, Amsterdam UMC, University of Amsterdam (UvA). Dr. Calixto’s main research addresses challenges surrounding clinical NLP as well as methods to model the complex interaction between language and other modalities (e.g., images, videos), knowledge graphs, world, and commonsense knowledge.


Alberto Testoni

Dr. Alberto Testoni is a post-doctoral researcher working on NLP and multi-modal learning methods for applications in the healthcare domain. Dr. Testoni co-leads the CaRe-NLP project and collaborates with his expertise on a number of other research projects, such as MediSpeech.


Nishant Mishra

Nishant Mishra is a PhD candidate working on explainable methods for NLP in healthcare with a focus on methods that go beyond post-hoc explainability, e.g., NLP methods that are explainable by design. Nishant is co-supervised with prof. Ameen Abu-Hanna.


Heloísa Oss Boll

Heloísa Oss Boll is a PhD candidate working on clinical large language models (LLMs) for NLP in healthcare with a focus on methods that can enable LLMs to tackle real-world, diverse clinical tasks. Heloísa is co-supervised with prof. Ameen Abu-Hanna.


Xinlan Yan

Xinlan Yan is a PhD candidate working on synthetic data generation for applications in healthcare with a focus on privacy-perserving methods that can incorporate structured and unstructured patient data. Xinlan is co-supervised with prof. Ameen Abu-Hanna.


Rachel Murphy

Rachel Murphy is a PhD candidate and works, among other topics, on corpora and NLP models for drug-induced acute kidney injury (AKI). Rachel is also a member of the Pharmacoinformatics Lab and is co-supervised with dr. Joanna Klopotowska.


Zeyu Zhang

Zeyu Zhang is a PhD candidate working on NLP and data management for data-driven mental health research. Zeyu is also a member of the Intelligent Data Engineering Lab (INDELab) and is co-supervised with dr. Sebastian Schelter.
